Summary of Case:

"Steven Jones Kelly was wrongly convicted in 2000 of raping a friend's wife after a party in 1999. The woman claimed he raped her while she was in bed with her husband. But the jury wasn't told that only her husband's DNA was recovered from her. Steven Kelly was sentenced to three years imprisonment. In June 2007 he Court of Appeal quashed Kelly's conviction, ruling the failure to inform the jury that the woman's testimony was contrary to the physical (DNA) evidence that he hadn't had sex with her made his conviction unsafe. Kelly was released after a year of wrongful imprisonment."
