Summary of Case:

"Julieon Edward Quichocho Kim was wrongly convicted in 2014 of burglarizing Wettengel Elementary School in Dededo, Guam. Kim was convicted based on the prosecution's claim he was part of a December 12, 2012 scheme to steal copper wire from junction panel boxes on the outside of the school building and on its roof. After his conviction Kim was sentenced to 5 years in prison. On August 20, 2015 the Supreme Court of Guam reversed Kim's burglary conviction on the basis that his alleged taking of items from inside the school’s perimeter fence doesn’t meet the legal definition of “burglary” under Guam’s burglary statute."
