"Prawit Kimsai was wrongly convicted in March 2017 of human trafficking in Thailand. Kimsai was the captain of a fishing trawler, and he was arrested on November 7, 2015 for allegedly harsh working conditions for workers from Myanmar. After his conviction Kimsai appealed. On January 30, 2018 Thailand's Court of Appeal set-aside Kimsai's conviction based on insufficient evidence by the prosecution he forced his migrant workers to work under illegal harsh conditions in violation of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act BE 2551 (2008)."
