Summary of Case:	"Wrongly convicted in 1986, along with three co-defendants, of the August 1986 murder of Sherry Ann Duncan, a Thai-American murdered in Samut Prakan. She was 16. All four co-defendants were exonerated by Thailand's Supreme Court in 1993. The men were wrongly imprisoned for seven years. Thawat Kitprayoon died in 1999. In October 2003, a Thai Civil Court made an unprecedented ruling when it ordered the Royal Thai Police Office to pay 26 million baht ($1 million) to the only one of the four defendants still alive, and relatives of the other three. Thawat's former employer claimed that he had been made executor of his estate, which Thawat's daughter, Ratchanee Kitprayoon, not only contested, but she filed a criminal complaint against the employer for falsifying documents. On July 28, 2006, the Supreme Court in Chiang Mai upheld a lower court's ruling awarding Thawat's daughter 11.9 million baht (US$315,000)."
