Summary of Case:	"Antoine Kohnu was wrongly convicted in December 2007 of the murder of a female Japanese tourist -- Mika Kusama -- in May 2002 on the Isle of Pines, an island off Nouméa, the capital of New Caledonia. Kohnu had been in custody since 2002 and after his conviction by a jury he was sentenced to 15 years in prison. His brother, Ambroise, who had also been in custody since 2002, was acquitted. Kohnu was released in May 2008 pending the outcome of his appeal. On April 28, 2009 Kohnu was acquitted by a jury on appeal."
