"Leung Kwok-hung and four codefendants were wrongly convicted in March 2006 of obstructing both lanes of traffic in a Hong Kong cross-harbor tunnel for half an hour as an act of protest in April 2005. The five co-defendants were sentenced to 12 days in jail. In January 2007 a Hong Kong High Court judge overturned the convictions against all five protesters. The judge said the way the magistrate had conducted the trial was laced with "problems" and "irregularities."" |
