Summary of Case:	"Philippe Lacroix was wrongly convicted of 15 counts of sexual assault in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Lacroix's prosecution was based solely on circumstantial evidence that on 15 different occasions he grabbed women as he rode by them on his bicycle at night between April and September 2003. Lacroix was convicted after a bench (judge only) trial. The Quebec Court of Appeal affirmed Lacroix's convictions, with one judge dissenting. The dissenting judge enabled Lacroix to make an automatic appeal the Supreme Court. On December 4, 2008 the Supreme Court of Canada reversed Lacroix's convictions on the basis the prosecution's circumstantial evidence was insufficient to prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt."
