Summary of Case:	"Dermot Laide was co-defendant of Desmond Ryan. The two men were wrongly convicted in February 2004 of manslaughter in the March 2000 death of a fellow student Brian Murphy at Ireland's Blackrock College, during in a violent fracas outside Club Anabel at Dublin's Burlington Hotel. Dermot Laide was sentenced to four years imprisonment. Laide's manslaughter conviction was quashed on appeal on February 24, 2005. On April 21, 2006 the prosecution announced it wouldn't retry Laide for manslaughter and dropped the charge because of a new statement by State Pathologist Marie Cassidy into how Murphy died differed from the report of her predecessor. Laide served 19 months imprisonment."
