Summary of Case:	"Ronald Larkins was wrongly convicted in 1986 of first-degree murder and robbery in Cleveland, Ohio. Larkins was sentenced to life in prison without parole. Larkins convictions were overturned and he was released on bond in March 2003. On December 29, 2004 the trial judge granted Larkins motion to dismiss the charges based on egregious prosecutorial misconduct. The State appealed, and on January 12, 2006 the Ohio Court of Appeals affirmed that lower court's ruling. On November 18, 2008 Larkin filed a complaint in the Ohio Court of Claims for compensation under Ohio's wrongful imprisonment statute. The State vigorously opposed Larkin's claim. On March 14, 2011 a settlement was approved for the State to pay Larkin a total of $510,000, with $106,700 of the money to be paid th Larkin's lawyer Kort Gatterdam, and the balance of $403,300 to be paid to Larkin."
