Summary of Case:	"Noble Lasike was wrongly convicted on July 9, 2012 of illegally being in possession of ammunition without a valid license in Nuku'alofa, Tonga on June 28, 2010. Lasike is the owner of the Sandyboyz Motel where two live .22 bullets were found in a room jointly occupied by Lasike and a woman named Sandra. The two bullets were found in a cardboard box which had been brought by Sandra to the motel some two weeks earlier. The box was on a shelf beside the bed. Lasike's defense was he didn't have possession of the bullets as required by the statute to constitute an offense -- and that he didn't even know they were in the box. After his conviction by a jury Lasike appealed. On October 12, 2012 the Court of Appeal of Tonga set-aside Lasike's conviction and ordered his acquittal on the basis the prosecution failed to introduce sufficient evidence to prove he had possession of the bullets."
