Summary of Case:

Kevin Patrick Leahy was wrongly convicted in February 2008 of raping a woman based on her testimony that he raped her after a night of drinking beer and whiskey. The woman admitted she drank voluntarily and she was conscious and didn't make any verbal or physical effort to indicate to Kevin Leahy that she didn't want to engage in sex. Leahy was sentenced to five years imprisonment. In August 2008 the Court of Appeals ordered his release pending his appeal. In October 2008 Leahy's conviction was quashed and he was ordered acquitted on the basis of insufficient evidence a crime had occurred. Leahy was wrongly imprisoned for seven months.
