Summary of Case:

"Hugh C. Lee was wrongly convicted in federal court on November 19, 1924 of robbery in the hold-up of the post office in Priors, Georgia on September 15, 1923. Lee's prosecution was based on the eyewitness identificaiton of a 14-year-old boy. Hugh Lee was sentenced to five years in federal prison. A few months later the actual robber confessed to the crime, and on February 9, 1925 pled guilty and was sentenced to 3-1/2 years in federal prison. U.S. President Calvin Coolidge granted Hugh Lee a full pardon on March 13, 1925 based on the new evidence of his innocence of hte robbery."
