Summary of Case:

"David Lemus was co-defendant of Olmedo Hidalgo. The two men were wrongly convicted in 1993 of the 1990 murder of a bouncer at New York's Palladium nightclub. After new evidence of the men's innocence was discovered, the conviction of both men were vacated in 2005. The prosecution conceded in July 2005 that there was no evidence Hidalgo was involved in the murder and his conviction was subsequently vacated. The prosecution announced it would retry Lemus, but he was released in 2005 on bail pending his retrial. During Lemus' retrial Thomas "Spanky" Morales testified in a sealed courtroom that he, and not Hidalgo or Lemus, committed the murder. On December 6, 2007 Lemus was acquitted after his retrial. He had been wrongly imprisoned for 14 years."
