Summary of Case:	"Nathaniel M. Lewis was wrongly convicted in 1997 of raping a woman student at the University of Akron. In 2002 his conviction was vacated by a federal court of appeals that ruled portions of the victims diary that exculpated Lewis were improperly excluded as evidence by the trial judge. Nathaniel Lewis filed a suit against the State of Ohio for a declartion of his actual innocence, and in June 2004 an Ohio judge ruled that Lewis had proved his innocence by a preponderance of the evidence. On July 1, 2005 Lewis filed a claim for compensation with the the Ohio Court of Claims. On September 27, 2005 the Ohio Court of Claims awarded Nathaniel Lewis $662,000 in compensation. Lewis was wrongly imprisoned for five years."
