Summary of Case:

"Peter Limone was one of four defendants framed for murder by the testimony of an FBI informant who was one of the murderers. Limone had actually warned the victim he was in danger, codefendant of Salvati, Greco and Tameleo. He was on death row for 6 years before Massachusetts abolished the death penalty in 1974 and he was resentenced to life in prison. Released in 2001 after 34 years of wrongful imprisonment. Sued the federal government and was awarded $26 million in July 2007 of a total award of $101.7 million to the four defendants by federal District Court Judge Nancy Gertner. The federal government appealed the award, and on August 27, 2009 the First Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the award."
