Summary of Case:

"Wrongly convicted in 1984 of murdering a person in Texas, when it was later proven he was in another state at the time. Two successive TX state attorney generals concluded Lucas had been wrongly convicted. In 1998 Lucas became the only person on Texas' death row pardoned by Gov. George Bush. He remained imprisoned based on nine other murder convictions, although there is doubt he may be guilty of some of them, since Lucas is known to have falsely confessed to hundreds of murders."
