"Ronnie Mahan was codefendant of his brother of Dale Mahan who were wrongly convicted of the rape and kidnapping of a young woman in Jefferson County, Alabama in 1983. Both brothers were wrongly identified by the rape victim in a line-up. Dale was sentenced to 35 years in prison and Ronnie was sentenced to life in prison without parole. They were exonerated by post-conviction DNA testing of the rapist's sperm and public hair that excluded them as the assailants. Dale Mahon was 41 when he was killed in an automobile crash on December 3, 2002."
