"Cleveland Mallory was wrongly convicted of riot and assault aboard the U.S. aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk on October 12-13, 1972. Mallory was sentenced to a bad conduct discharge and reduced to the rank of seaman recruit. Mallory's conviction was overturned by a Navy review in February 1973 and his record was expunged and his Seaman rank was restored."
