Summary of Case:	Wrongly convicted in August 2006 of raping and assaulting a former girlfriend that he was still living with. The man from Blenheim was sentenced to nine years in prison. In February 2008 New Zealand's Court of Appeal overturned his conviction and ordered his release on bond. The Court also ordered that his name be suppressed from the public to protest him from negative publicity. After a 3-1/2 day rerial he was acquitted of the rape and indecent assault charge. He was convicted of assault related to tussling with the woman over a cell phone.
