Summary of Case:	"A school employee was wrongly convicted in 2016 of sexually assaulting a four-year-old student at a school in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India on September 29, 2014. The accused's prosecution was based on his identification by the victim from a photographic lineup -- although she was confused between him and his brother. She said she was abused when she went to the toilet on the school's ground floor. His defense was that at the time of the alleged assault he was not working on the ground floor -- which was supported by testimony of his school colleagues -- and that the doctor who examined the girl couldn't be found and hence the medical report was inadmissible. The Special Court found him guilty of violating the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The Court ruled his guilt was proven by the testimony of the girl, her mother, and that he was working at the school on the day of the alleged assault. After his conviction the man was sentenced to 10 years in prison and ordered to pay Rs 25,000 compensation to the girl. He appealed. On November 21, 2019 the Mumbai High Court set-aside his conviction and ordered his acquittal on the basis the prosecution introduced insufficient credible evidence to prove his guilt beyond a reasonble doubt. "
