On appeal his conviction was overturned and he was released from prison. He sued for compensation and in October 2008 Sweden’s Chancellor of Justice awarded him 170,498 kronor ($21,725) in compensation. That includes 20,498 kronor for lost income and 150,000 for pain and suffering."
