Summary of Case:	"Eric Anthony Masso was wronly convicted of possession of a controlled substance in Harris County, Texas. Eric Masso pled guilty and was sentenced to 180 days in state jail. After he had served his sentence, Masso filed a habeas petition contending his plea was involuntary and his conviction violated due process because post-conviction testing of the evidence in his case determined the substance in his possession was amphetamine in an FDA-approved form. The State did not oppose his petition, and the trial court recommended the granting of relief. On October 5, 2016 the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals granted Eric Masso's habeas petition vacating his guilty plea and overturning his conviction."
