Summary of Case:	"Ronald Mays was wrongly convicted in February 2007 of sexually abusing an eight-year-old girl sitting next to him on a June 20, 2006 flight from Tampa, Florida to Detroit Michigan. In June 2007, prior to Mays' sentencing, the trial judge overturned the conviction and ordered a new trial, ruling that the prosecution had improperly alleged in closing arguments to the jury, without any proof presented during the trial, that Mays had destroyed child pornography on his computer before federal authorities could seize the computer. In October 2007 the U.S. Attorney's Office dropped the charges and the judge dismissed the indictment. Mays had been free on bail pending sentencing, so he wasn't imprisoned on his wrongful conviction."
