Summary of Case:	"William McCaffrey was wrongly convicted of raping a woman in September 2005. McCaffrey claimed he didn't rape the woman, but the jury relied on her testimony that he did. In 2008 DNA test of a swb where she said she had been bitten by McCaffrey revealed that the DNA was from a woman. In August 2008 Biurny Peguero Gonzalez confessed to a priest that she made up the rape allegation, and that her injuries stemmed from a drunken brawl with a female friend on the night she met McCaffrey. She later went to the authorities. In September 2009 McCaffrey was released on bail. Peguero pled guilty to perjury on December 7, 2009, facing a maximum of seven years in prison. On December 10, 2009 the charges were dropped against McCaffrey by the prosecutor and the indictment was dismissed against McCaffrey. In February 2010 Biurny Peguero, 27, was sentenced to three years in prison."
