Summary of Case:

"Raymond McCann II was wrongly convicted in 2015 of perjury during a homicide investigation in St. Joseph County, Michigan. McCann was sentenced to 20 months in prison. McCann filed a claim under Michigan's Wrongful Imprisonment Compensation Act that awards $50,000 per year of incarceration. On May 17, 2019 the Michigan attorney general's office announced McCann would receive $40,000 compensation.
