Summary of Case:	"Craig McCreight was wrongly convicted in 2002 of murdering his romantic partner with whom he had a daughter, based on expert testimony that she had a lethel amount of chloroform in her system. The prosecution theorized that Craig McCreight suffocated her with a lethel dose. He was sentenced to a minimum of 18 years in prison. After McCreight's direct appeal was denied, new scientific analysis discovered that the expert testimony was erroneous by suggesting she had 1,000 times the amount of chloroform in her liver than what was actually present in her system. The error was based on an arithmetical error in at the laboratory that conducted the test. The actual amount was consistent with what a person would have from ingesting a substance to aid sleeping. Based on the new evidence McCreight filed a appeal of his conviction. On April 1, 2009 Scotland's Court of Appeal in Edinburgh quashed Craig McCreight's conviction and ordered that there would not be a retrial. He was released after 7 years imprisonment."
