"Clarence LeRoy McKinney was wrongly convicted in 1922 of a murder committed on February 14, 1922 in Wilmington, Ohio. McKinney's conviction was based on a police officer's testimony that he was one of two men who shot and killed his partner. McKinney was sentenced to life in prison. In 1923 two men confessed to being involved in the officer's shooting. After they pled giulty to the murder, McKinney's conviction was vacated and he was released from prison. "
