"Thomas McNulty was wrongly convicted of vagrancy in Worcester, Massachusetts on October 6, 1903. The 16-year-old McNulty was sentenced to an indeterminate sentence in the Massachusetts reformatory. After McNulty's conviction and incarceration it was determined he had committed no crime. Upon the recommendation of the prison commissioners he was pardoned by Massachusetts Governor William Lewis Douglas on May 25, 1904. It was noted that McNulty had a good home and employment awaiting him on his release." |
