Summary of Case:	"José Manuel Medina was wrongly convicted of breach of public trust in 2013 in Orihuela Costa, Spain. Medina was the mayor of Orihuela Costa from 1995 until 2007. The corruption case involved the sale in 2003 of land on the coastal zone that was valued at around 2 million euro. The prosecution alleged Medina was criminally involved in the sale of the land for a below market price that cost the city around US$2 million. Medina was sentenced to disqualification from public office for seven years. In January 2013 Medina's conviction was overturned on appeal."
