Summary of Case:	"Matthew Kennon Mercer was wrongly convicted of three counts of online solicitation of a minor in Collin County, Texas in two separate indictments. Matthew Mercer was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for each indictment under Tex. Penal Code § 33.021(b). He did not appeal his convictions. In 2013 the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals ruled that § 33.021(b) unconstitutional in Ex parte Lo, 424 S.W.3d 10 (Tex. Crim. App. 2013). Mercer filed a writ of habeas corpus that his convictions were no longer valid in light of Lo. On January 13, 2016 the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals granted Mercer's writ of habeas corpus and ordered dismissal of his indictments."
