"Adam J. Mersereau was wrongly convicted on December 10, 2010 of first-degree sexual abuse of a 4-year-old boy in a park in Glenrock, Wyoming in 2009. Mersereau was sentenced to 18 to 24 years in prison. On September 26, 2012 the Wyoming Supreme Court reversed Mersereau's conviction of first-degree sexual abuse based on evidentiary ruling and jury instruction errors by the trial judge, and ordered a retrial. The prosecution declined to retry Mersereau and its motion to dismiss the charge was granted on October 12, 2012." |
