Summary of Case:	"Kenneth W. Moore was wrongly convicted of murder in 1995 after pleading guilty to the crime that occurred in Piketon, Ohio on January 17, 1995. He was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. Kenneth Moore attempted to withdraw his guilty plea and appealed his conviction based on the prosecution's Brady violation of failing to overturn exculpatory evidence. The appeals court overturned Moore's conviction, and he was acquitted by a jury on August 22, 2004 after a retrial. On February 27, 2006 Moore filed a complaint seeking compensation with the Ohio Court of Claims. On July 29, 2008 the Ohio Court of Claims approved a settlement of Moore's wrongful imprisonment claim against the state of Ohio for $601,450. The payment includes $44,204 for each year of Moore's imprisonment, $80,817 for lost wages, and $106,764 for legal fees."
