Although Morehouse pled guilty the Court of Appeals accepted his appeal because he argued the facts cast doubt that he had in fact committed the crime he pled guilty to committing. On September 19, 2013 the New York Suprme Court Appellate Division overturned Morehouse's conviction on the basis he didn't forge the cardholder's name because he signed the credit card slip with his own name."
