Summary of Case:	"Robert Morgan was wrongly convicted of two counts of manslaughter in September 1990, after he pled guilty in the death of five passengers after the train he was in charge of collided with another train on March 4, 1989 in Purley, England. Robert Morgan was sentenced to 18 months in prison with 12 months suspended. An appeal of his sentence resulted in it being reduced to four months imprisonment. Morgan filed an appeal of his conviction after new evidence surfaced that the signal warning lights at the crossing where the collison occurred had a history of malfunctioning. In January 2008 the U.K.'s Court of Appeal quashed his conviction on the grounds that equipment malfunction may have been the cause of the accident, and not any negligence by Morgan. The quashing of Morgan's conviction was 18 years after his conviction, and he was wrongly imprisoned for four months."
