Summary of Case: |
Guy Paul Morin was wrongly convicted of murder in 1992 and sentenced to life in prison. Morin was released on bail in 1993 after 18 months imprisonment based on DNA testing conducted after his conviction that excluded him as the murderer. His conviction was overturned in 1995 by the Ontario Court of Appeal which acquitted him. In 1997 he was awarded compensation of CAN$1.25 million by the government of the province of Ontario. |
