Summary of Case:

"One of seventeen people from Mansfield, Ohio wrongly convicted of selling drugs based on the false testimony of DEA informant Jerrell Bray who worked under the supervision of DEA agent Lee Lucas. Dwayne Nabors was convicted after a guilty plea, of possessing two handguns. The guns were found during a search of his home for drugs based on a warrant obtained from Bray's sworn affidavit that he bought a pound of cocaine from Nabors for $10,000. No drugs were found in Nabors home, but the two handguns were found.) He was sentenced to 5 years in prison. After Bray admitted he made up his accusations against the defendants, the U.S. Attorney's Office filed a motion to vacate all their convictions. The search warrant for Nabors house was based on Bray's perjury, so it was invalid, and the seizure of the handguns was illegal. Nabors convictions were vacated and he was released from prison on October 26, 2007 after 16 months of wrongful imprisonment. Geneva France's conviction was overturned in June 2007, 19 months after he jury trial conviction, The other defendants were released on or about February 1, 2008, after about 26 months of wrongful imprisonment."
