"Robert E. Nelson was wrongly convicted in 1984 of the rape and robbery of a 25-year-old woman in her Kansas City, Missouri home. His conviction by a jury was based on his "voice" identification by the victim -- who couldn't identify him from a photo. He was sentenced to 98 years in prison. Robert Nelson was exonerated and released on June 12, 2013 based on exculpatory DNA tests of crime scene evidence. Nelson was awarded $318,000 in wrongful imprisonment compensation by the State of Missouri."
