"Three Thousand thirty-two Nigerian military officers and enlisted soldiers were wrongly convicted in 2014 after military trials of mutiny for refusing to fight against Boko Haram Islamist militants. In August 2015 Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, who took office on May 29, 2015, pardoned the 3,032 soldiers on the basis they didn't commit mutiny, but only demanded vital equipment necessary to effectively fight agaisnt the well-armed Boko Haram insurgents. The soldiers were considered rehabilitated, and were reinstated by the Nigerian military on September 3, 2015. The soldiers then requested that they be paid their salary arrears."
