Summary of Case:

"Martin Nnodimele was wrongly convicted in 2008 of two robberies -- Visio Optics in 2008 and a Caravan clothing store in 2007 -- in Manhattan, New York. Nnodimele's prosecution was based on the investigating detectives' evidence that when shown a wanted poster with the bandit's picture from a surveillance video he allegedly replied: "That's me." Two of three eyewitnesses to the robbery did not select Nnodimele from a line-up. Nnodimele's convictions were vacated on September 12, 2011, he was released on bail on October 24, 2011, and on June 14, 2012 the Manhattan District Attorney's Office's motion to dismiss the charges was granted. In July 2014 the New York Court of Claims awarded Nnodimele's compensation lawsuit for $450,000. In August 2016 the City of New York agreed to settle his federal civil rights lawsuit for $2 million."
