Summary of Case:

"Corey Norman was wrongly convicted in July 2016 of possessing a prohibited drug and possessing a prescribed restricted substance in Sydney, Australia. The prosecution of Norman, a NRL star, was based on the discovery of drugs in his pocket at The Star casino in May 2016. A friend with Norman at the time told security guards that the drugs belonged to him. Norman pled guilty in the Downing Centre Local Court, and he was sentenced to AUS$800. Norman appealed. On September 15, 2016 Norman's conviction was overturned based on the trial court's failure to properly consider that his friend at the time the drugs were seized admitted they were his drugs."
