Summary of Case:

"Wrongly convicted of witchcraft in Salem, MA during what is now known as the Salem Witch Trials. Rebeccah Nurse (the modern spelling is Rebecca Nurse) was acquitted after her trial, but because of the public outcry the jury reconsidered its verdict and changed it to guilty. She was sentenced to death on July 19, 1692. Rebeccah Nurse is a central character in Arthur Miller's play The Crucible."
