Nyari appealed, and on September 14, 2007 the High Court overturned his conviction and set-aside his sentence on the basis of insufficient evidence and perjury by prosecution witnesses. Nyari was wrongly imprisoned for 2-1/2 years. Nyari's co-defendant's appeal was dismissed because he had failed to properly appeal.. "
