Summary of Case:

"Wrongly convicted in February 2005 of unlawful street trading. Onasanya had a notice in the back of his Volvo with his phone number for potential purchasers to call, On appeal, High Court Justice Lord Kay quashed Onasanya's conviction in July 2006, stating the case was "a graphic illustration of what can happen when a prosecutor, in this case the London Borough of Newham, becomes over zealous. It is not and never has been suggested that Mr Onasanya is in any sense a professional street trader. Indeed he is a local government officer employed by a neighbouring London borough."
