Summary of Case:	"Wayne T. Oxley Jr. was wrongly convicted in 2006 of the murder of his neighbor in August 2005 with a baseball bat. Although there was no physical, eyewitness or confession evidence linking him to the murder, the jury convicted him. He was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. His conviction was overturned in 2009 and he was released on bail after 2 years and 7 months in custody. His second trial in 2010 ended in a hung jury. Prior to his third trial the district attorney offered him a plea deal that if he pled guilty he would be sentenced to time served. Oxley turned down the deal and in January 2012 his third trial began. After a 5-week trial, during which Oxley testified in his own defense, the jury acquitted Oxley on February 24, 2012 after deliberating for two hours. On the same day as his acquittal, Oxley's lawyer from his first and second trials filed a 38-page complaint with the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct against Judge Jerome J. Richards for threatening a defense witness with perjury during Oxley's third trial. In May 2012 Oxley filed a claim with the New York Court of Claims for $13, 078,000."
