Summary of Case:

"BPD Pai was wrongly convicted of crimes related to a stock scam at the Syndicate Bank in India that became public in 1992. At the time Pai worked as an assistant general manager at the Syndicate Bank's Nariman Point branch. Pai was dismissed from the bank in June 1995. Pai appealed his conviction. Pai died in 2010 of natural causes. In 2011 the Bombay High Court posthumously quashed Pai's conviction. On July 13, 2017 the Bombay High Court posthumously awarded full retirement benefits be paid to his dependents considering the time from June 1995 to his death in 2011, as if he had never left the service of the bank."
