Summary of Case:	"Larry Leroy Peterson was wrongly convicted in 1989 of a 1987 rape and murder in Pemberton, New Jersey. A judge ordered a new trial in 2005 based on DNA testing unavailable at the time of his conviction that excluded him as the woman's assailant. Larry Peterson was also released on bail in 2005. In May 2006 the prosecutors dismissed the charges after determining their was no evidence Peterson was guilty. Larry Peterson was wrongly imprisoned for 18 years. In December 2006 Peterson filed a lawsuit in state court against the State of New Jersey, and four years later, on December 24, 2010, the lawsuit was settled for $1 million."
