Summary of Case:	"Allen Porter was wrongly convicted in 1991 of a June 18, 1990 incident involving the robbery of five people and the rape of two women in Houston,Texas. Porter was convicted based on his identification by the victims. The jury rejected his mistaken identification defense and after his conviction he was sentenced to life in prison. A co-defendant, who pled guilty and admitted involvement, was also sentenced to lfie in prison. After Porter wrote a letter in 2009 to the Harris County DA's Office proclaiming is innocence, an investigation was begun into Porter's case. Two new exculpatory witnesses were discovered. With the recommendation of the DA's Office, Porter conviction was overturned and he was released on $30,000 bail on July 23, 2010 based on the judges determination the new exculpatory defense witnesses are credible."
