Summary of Case:	"Leonard W. Puccini was wrongly convicted in May 2013 after a bench trial of sexual abuse for allegedly spanking the uncovered rear of a 12-year-old boy when years before he was a mentor in the Big Brothers-Big Sisters program. Puccini was convicted based on the testimony of his alleged victim and two other witnesses who testified he had sxual encounters with them when they were young boys. Puccini was sentneced to five years imprisonment. In September 2014 the Illinois Appellate Court overturned Puccini's conviction on the basis of insufficient evidence, ruling that the judge "convicted [him] based on the uncharged, unproved and remote allegations, rather than the evidence supporting the charged crime.""
