Summary of Case:

John Purvis was wrongly convicted in 1983 of murdering a neighbor woman and her infant daughter based on his confession after intense interrogation. John Purvis was sentenced to life in prison plus two 20 years terms. Purvis' confession was revealed as false and he was exonerated and released in 1993 when two other men were identified as the actual perpetrators and arrested and charged with the murders.
