"Wrongly convicted on March 11, 2010, of committing of bankruptcy fraud in 2010 by guaranteeing a bank loan and an overdraft. Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman had declared bankruptcy in 1996, but at the time of trial Rahman's lawyers did not have proof it had been annulled on May 9, 1997. Rahman was sentenced to one month in jail or a fine of RM 10,000 (US$3,229 at exchange rate on 10-18-2010). Malaysia's High Court set aside Rahman's conviction in September 2010 based on new evidence that his bankruptcy had been annulled in 1997, and therefore he could not have committed the bankruptcy fraud in 2010."
